Installation and Contact Geometry
Install the body so that the target moves along the control-rod axis. The probe should have sufficient preload to maintain contact but must not be compressed beyond its mechanical limit. Side loading, impact, surface discontinuities or an incorrectly positioned target can accelerate wear and cause unstable measurements.
